Specialist equine skin, feather & grooming care, developed through generations of experience with traditional cobs.
No Moore Mallanders Shampoo – 500ml
Our bestselling specialist shampoo for the care and management of Mallanders & Sallanders in horses.
Mallanders and Sallanders are associated with hyperkeratosis — an overproduction and build-up of keratin that can leave the skin thickened, dry and difficult to manage. Our No Moore Mallanders Shampoo has been developed to cleanse the area and help soften stubborn keratin build-up, making ongoing care easier.
How to use
Wet the affected area and apply the shampoo, working it gently into the skin. Allow the shampoo time to work before rinsing thoroughly.
When managing heavier build-up, wash regularly as part of your routine. As the keratin softens, only remove material that comes away easily — do not pick or forcibly remove attached scabs or build-up.
Once the area is under control, reduce washing and move to a regular maintenance routine appropriate for your horse and the weather.
Developed from experience
Our Mallanders range was developed through years of hands-on experience caring for traditional cobs at Moore’s Gypsy Cobs.
Mallanders typically occurs behind the front knees, while Sallanders affects the front of the hocks. There is no permanent cure for the genetic tendency towards this keratin overproduction, so consistent management is key.
For external use only. Patch test before first use and discontinue use if irritation occurs.
From our cobs to yours.
A Touch Moore was born from almost 40 years of hands-on experience with horses and ponies, and generations spent around traditional cobs through Moore’s Gypsy Cobs.
After years of trying products that never quite gave us what we wanted, we began developing products for our own horses — products we could trust and were happy to use in our own yard.
Today, A Touch Moore has grown from those beginnings into a specialist equine care brand, with products for Mallanders & Sallanders, skin, feather and grooming care. Everything we develop is still guided by the same principle: if we wouldn’t use it on our own cobs, we wouldn’t ask you to use it on yours.

I honestly can't recommend the shampoo and feather oil enough, our little shetlands tail is covered in Mallanders and I've been using this product regularly, it's very gently lifting all the scabs away and leaving beautiful skin behind. The vet we saw yesterday was incredibly impressed with how these products were working and even took a pic of bottles I took with me as they liked it so much!
